The Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program 2009
The Hamper Program was able to provide approximately 220 basic food hampers this year; his equals to over 400 adults and over 300 children in the Cloverdale area!
We are thankful that despite the economic times and the greater need this year, we were able to provide some much-needed help to those who needed it. The number of hampers done for 2009 was up 10-20% from 2008 - over 64% of the hampers that were given out were to those who had not come to CCHP in 2008, proving to us how important it was to meet these needs at such a difficult time of year for many.
Though food donations were down slightly from last year, the cash donations were up and it allowed the CCHP to purchase the items that were not supplied through the collection boxes in the community. It was an overwhelming experience as you watched the donations come in being laid out on the tables in preparation; seeing how everyone had confidence there would be enough to fill boxes for every one of the 204 hampers we anticipated needing!
We pray that those who received will continue to be blessed and that every item will be stretched!
