We support missionary work around the world through our contributions to the Global Advance Fund. It is a shared fund with over 300 Christian and Missionary Churches (C&MA) in Canada. It supports over 300 missionaries who serve in a variety of places throughout the world. One of the primary goals is to target population groups that have not yet heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

This special offering is called the Jaffray offering because it links us to the legacy of a C&MA missionary, Robert A. Jaffray, and to our sacrificial giving in the past.

Robert Jaffray was was a missionary to China, Indonesia, and several other countries with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA), who served as the founding principal of the Alliance Seminary, in Hong Kong, and principal contributor and editor of the Chinese language Bible Magazine.

Born into a wealthy family of which his father owned Canada’s Toronto Globe (today’s Globe & Mail), Jaffray’s father had ambitions for him to become the CEO and owner of Toronto Globe.

However, Jaffray sensed that he had a calling to become a missionary. After having an encounter with the founder of the C&MA, A.B. Simpson, Jaffray decided that his calling was to serve as a missionary to China. Learn more by checking out the video and pdf linked here.

In honor of Robert Jaffray’s work, we join with our fellow C&MA churches in this  first annual Jaffray Offering. All financial donations will go to the Global Advance Fund to send new missionaries to the least reached people groups.
