DESCRIPTION:On Good Friday\, we will be having a traditional Tenebrae Servi
 ce.  The word Tenebrae means "in the shadows" or "darkness".  For centur
 ies\, Christians have worshipped on Good Friday by reading through the Pas
 sion narrative.  As each aspect of Christ's suffering is read\, a candle 
 is extinguished symbolizing the life of Jesus Christ being snuffed out. Th
 ere will also be a prayer element to our service where we will be invited 
 to light a candle for someone who we know is suffering and in need of Chri
 st's redemptive suffering on their behalf.   As the Christ candles are b
 eing extinguished\, other smaller candles will be lit.  (Participating in
  the candle lighting is encouraged but optional.  No one will be asked to
  pray out loud.)\nThe service will be quiet and reflective.  We invite yo
 u to enter and leave the sanctuary in silence.  We will not be celebratin
 g Communion until Easter Sunday.  \nUnstructured\, limited childcare will
  be provided from ages 1 to Grade 4 (ages will be combined for this servic
 e\; 1 year olds &amp\; toddlers together and preschoolers - Grade 4 togeth
 er).  Elementary aged children are invited to quietly participate with th
 eir parents.  Parents with children are encouraged to brief their childre
 n before the service\, explaining the purpose of the day and why we rememb
 er Good Friday in a somber and reflective mood.  For those children who w
 ill not be comfortable in the service\, up to Grade 4\, they may sign thei
 r children into one of the childcare rooms.\nWe invite you to come!\nEaste
 r Sunday April 12th will be at our regular time of 10:00am.  We gather to
 gether again - to celebrate of the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Children'
 s programs will run as usual for this Sunday.\n
