Defend Dignity - Together We Can End Prostitution

Psalm 82:3-4 (NIV)
"Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

Pastor Brian introduced us to Defend Dignity prior to his sermon on the Samaritan woman on Sun Feb 19th (listen to sermon here).  Defend Dignity is the C&MA justice campaign aimed at the abolition of prostitution in Canada. This campaign provides opportunities for churches to fulfill the C&MA Vision Prayer s we have invited the Lord to make us passionate in pursuit of his mission and mercy.

This campaign was developed by The National Women’s Ministries of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, but hopes that entire churches will engage in this issue and work towards ending prostitution in our country.  The NWM believes:

  • In the inherent dignity and value of all women, men and children made in the image of God.
  • Prostitution is a form of sexual exploitation, oppression and violence especially against women and children and seriously undermines their dignity and value.
  • Prostitution is detrimental to a healthy society.

Visit the Defend Dignity website here or follow the blog here to stay in touch with the painful realities of this issue.
