On Saturday November 17; 7:00 pm we will be hosting a Defend Dignity Information Forum.
The purpose of this forum is to educate the C&MA family of churches AND other churches on sexual exploitation in the form of prostitution in Canada. Our desire is to motivate individuals and churches to get involved by providing opportunities for networking with local organizations working on the issue and providing ideas to implement change.
During this evening, you will hear from an experiential woman telling her story, an MP who is favorable to what we are advocating and/or someone from law enforcement that has a reputation for just treatment of women and you will also hear from a local frontline organization and Glendyne Gerrard (Director of Defend Dignity). Hear personal stories and meet advocates and frontline workers: Trisha Baptie (a former prostitute), Michelle Miller (founder of REED – Resist Exploitation, Embrace Dignity), Dave Dickson (formerly with the VPD and current outreach worker for Lookout Emergency Aid Society).
We will have a time for Q&A, refreshments, a table to participate in writing letters to local MP's and a table to purchase resource books and more.
