Welcome to all first time readers! We have enjoyed visiting you and your churches in the past two months and we are grateful you chose to join us on mission in Mexico City!

To recap, here are the headlines:
  • We are heading to Mexico City on January 3rd, 2019 
  • We will partner with fellow C&MA International Workers and leaders of Union Church, Barry and Geri McLeod, as well as our former Caracas teammate Kelly Dyer.
  • We will be in Mexico City to reach/gather national and foreign English speakers and start new gospel expressions among them.
  • As we land, we will be getting our boys settled into school (January 7/8) and begin looking for an apartment.
God shows us over and over again that He is our provider:
  • Today, December 14th, we received temporary resident visas to move to Mexico!
  • Thanks to the generosity of His people, our Outfit Fund is being replenished so that we will be able to begin to setup a home when we arrive.
  • Our vehicle in Venezuela sold earlier this week and we have received some significant donations recently so we have just about hit our goal with our Vehicle Fund! We only have about $5000 more to raise. 
Highlights from the past couple of months:
  • The boys played roles in their school drama "A Christmas Carol High School" - we are proud parents of our actors!
  • Chris and Angela visited Mexico City in October to check out schools and spend time with the Mexico team on the ground - it was a significant time together and they found a good school for the boys.
  • We visited 6 churches in 6 weeks - it was a whirlwind but such a rich time spending time with our Canadian church family. Our churches are amazing supporters and prayer warriors!
  • Chris and Angela attended the District Prayer Retreat in Whistler while the boys' Uncle, Aunt and cousin, Kevin, Kim and Matthew Ohlmann, came to spend the week with them - the boys would say a highlight of their year was time spent with family!
  • Angela and Chris had the pleasure to help facilitate the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course at Lake Country Alliance Church - it was a special time not only getting to know the church family better but also growing deeper in Jesus.
God continues to change people in Venezuela:
  • María Cristina kept inviting Patricia, a friend from English conversation group, to be a part of her church community. About 7 weeks ago, Patricia choose to follow Jesus! It was just over a year ago that María Cristina was baptized in our back yard! We love seeing her shine the light of Christ in a dark place.
  • It took almost 9 months for Wilfredo and Mariana to join a local church family but after some divine meetings with them and some pastor friends of ours when Chris returned to Venezuela in August, Wilfredo and Mariana have chosen to be a part of and serve a local Alliance church in Caracas. It's exciting to see them flourishing and using their gifts!
What we are praying for these days:
  • While taking care of all the details to be ready to leave, we are praying that the peace of Christ  be with us, that we would be able to be fully present with people and really enjoy these last few weeks with friends and family.
  • We desire to have the eyes and heart of Jesus as we land in Mexico City.  We pray that we will be good listeners and attentive to His leading.  We want to join Him in what He is doing in Mexico City.
  • We declare: Great is His Faithfulness!  We are thankful for His heart for all to know Him! We are thankful for Emmanuel!
