Our search for a new Senior Pastor will get underway in January.  In preparation, the Board of Elders has developed a Lead Pastor Profile, to describe the type of individual we are seeking, and a Church Profile, to describe the church, staff and community in which the new Senior Pastor will be serving.  A Pastoral Search Team has been formed, comprised of eight members, four from the Board of Elders and four from the Congregation.  The four members appointed from the Board are:

  • Diane Felgate,
  • Lisa Nickel,
  • Calum Scott
  • Dave Stinchcombe

Lisa Nickel has agreed to serve as chairperson for the Pastoral Search Team.  The four members from the Congregation that were nominated by the Board and approved at the December 4th Annual General Meeting are:

  • Leanne DeWitt,
  • Leah Haggerty,
  • Jordan Pousett
  • Mike Richardson

The Pastoral Search Team will be fully accountable to the Board and shall report with full disclosure to the Board.  It shall not disclose any information to the church staff or congregation without permission of the Board.  The Pastoral Search Team will work with the assistance of the District Superintendent who will direct resumes to the Team and contact other district superintendents and lead pastors, as appropriate, on its behalf. The Pastoral Search Team will review all resumes received and determine whether any are suitable for pre-candidating interviews.

Once pre-candidating interviews have been conducted by the Pastoral Search Team, it will recommend prospective candidates to the Board of Elders, short listed in priority order.  Once the Board has conducted its due diligence for its preferred candidate, the District Superintendent will contact the candidate about candidating with the church.  Should the preferred candidate not be licensed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, they would need to become so prior to candidation. Only one person is candidated at a time.

If the preferred candidate agrees to candidate, a candidating process will commence involving the Board, Staff, and Congregation.  If the candidate does not agree to candidate, the Board will review the short list again and either proceed with another individual or ask the Pastoral Search Team to continue the search process.

The Pastoral Search Team will continue to serve the Board until a suitable candidate has been hired.
