HARVEST FESTIVAL
Hello PPC Family, Here at Pacific, we really value being a community that does Life Together and this Sunday we have an opportunity for all of us to come together for our Harvest Festival. Following our morning service, our Harvest Festival will kick off with fun filled indoor and outdoor activities! Our Commons area will have tables set up for our "PCC" (that is "PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION"). Please bring your own pumpkins and carving utensils. We will have extras on hand should you not be able to bring your own. Be creative in your design - best design will win a prize! After carving, head on over to our PHOTO BOOTH to snap a picture of yourself holding your amazing creation! Once done there, you can head towards the office entrance area - stop there to test your skills out on our PUMPKIN BOWLING! Yes, that's right - two amazing straw bale lanes with pumpkins that need to be rolled down the lane to knock down the butternut squash pins! Have fun and see how skilled you are! Although there aren't any prizes for this one, there will be chairs set up around the bowling station for you to have your friends sit on the sidelines to cheer you on! Just in front of the Fireplace Area, we will have two CORN HOLE STATIONS - another great place to test your amazing skills out! More chairs set up - and more places for people to sit and cheer you on! All of these indoor stations will have hand sanitizers available for you to use. As well, masks will be mandatory for our inside activities! BUT, THERE'S MORE ... head on outside for lunch! Delicious hot dogs (made by our very own amazing Dave Glasstetter), apple/pumpkin pies (homemade) and coffee/hot apple cider will be served! Once outside, masks are not mandatory - so grab your lunch, and head on over to the tables/chairs to sit and enjoy! As we are still on a journey with Covid, we encourage everyone to remember physical distancing while eating. Also outside will be our super cute PETTING ZOO! This will all be overseen by the company providing the animals. Please follow the instructions given to you as you enter into their fenced area. We are praying that we can maintain our heart of friendship for, and fellowship with one another and that you will find a deepening of our value of Life Together moving forward with this exciting church event. We would love to make this Harvest Festival a yearly experience for us at PCC! We hope you can make it! Blessings on you all! ~Pastor Jon PS. If you volunteered to bring a pie, please drop it off at the coffee counter (outside the kitchen) by 9:45 AM. Thanks! |

KIDS MINISTRY
THINK ORANGE: Our 4-5 year olds and Grades 1-4 are working their way through the THINK ORANGE curriculum - designed to teach our kids that the number one priority in life is to LOVE GOD! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: As our Kids Ministry is growing, we need more teachers/helpers, particularly for ages 2-3. This class is currently not open but we would love to be able to provide a class for that age group. Would you be willing to help out once a month? The class will not have a formal teaching lesson, but will, instead, have a simple story time, play time and snack time. Please reach out to us and let us know if you can help! pacifickids@pacificcommunity.ca COVID PROTOCOL: As we continue through this Covid journey, we now require each child to wear a mask when coming to the Kids' classes. Teachers/helpers will also be wearing masks. Hand sanitizer will be in each classroom and will be available to use. The snacks provided will be pre-packaged crackers and will be served by the teacher/helper. CHRISTMAS PARTY: On December 19, we are planning to have a Christmas party for the kids of all ages! Stay tuned for more details! NO CLASS: We will not be having classes on Boxing Day - December 26 PLEASE PRAY! Please be in prayer as we continue to seek God's leading for a Family Ministries Pastor! |

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
Hello Pacific - we wanted to remind you to BEWARE OF SCAMMERS! These people work tirelessly at trying to convince you, through a simple phone call, or an email, or a text message, that their stories are legit and they need your help. Often the call/email/text will claim to be from someone you know or an organization you are part of - and they are masters at convincing you that they need you for a special task. Their trap is very easy to fall for. Recently one congregant received a phone call and, innocently enough, believed the situation and agreed to help. That person is now out of pocket thousands of dollars. Another congregant received a phone call and invested thousands of dollars in an item that was a total scam. As well, scam emails from "Jon ImBeau" and "Prince Thomas" have been sent to various people, asking for help, in confidence. Some, who believed these emails, also lost money. PLEASE, if you get an email from someone, check the email address. The staff all have an email address from @pacificcommunity.ca OR @mycck.ca. DO NOT respond to emails asking for help (often the scammer is asking you to buy gift cards) - check the email address. If you get a phone call that sounds suspicious, it likely is! Do not agree to anything - talk with a friend or family member about the call to confirm it's validity, first. If you have ANY questions about this, please contact Joan at joan.kroeger@pacificcommunity.ca. |
