Dear PCC,

I write with a mix of gratitude and bittersweet emotion to let you know that I will be stepping down from my role as NextGen Pastor at Pacific Community Church, with my last day serving in that role being Sunday, September 6, 2026.

This decision comes as I turn my full attention to finishing my counselling degree, with the hope of opening my own counselling practice in the months ahead. Serving your students and families while balancing my studies has been a great joy, and this next step is one I take with excitement for what's ahead, even as I feel the weight of saying goodbye to this particular role.

Our church leadership is already working on a transition plan for NextGen ministry, and more details will be shared as they come together. In the meantime, I'm not disappearing from the picture; I plan to stay involved and help out with youth ministry as I'm able during this season of transition.

Perhaps most importantly, our family isn't going anywhere. We'll still be right here at Pacific Community Church, worshiping alongside you, and I look forward to continuing to be part of this community, just from a different seat. So please don't think of this as goodbye. It's simply a change in role.

Thank you for trusting me with your kids this year. Watching them grow in their faith has been a privilege, and I'm deeply grateful for the relationships we've built along the way.

Dear PCC,

As Andy completes his planned year serving as our NextGen Pastor, the Board wants to express our deep gratitude for his leadership, his care, and the meaningful relationships he has built with our youth and young adults. We are thankful for the ways he has poured into our community this past year. 

We look forward to continuing in friendship with Andy and his family as they remain part of our church community, and we pray for them as they enter this new chapter and as Andy pursues his calling in counselling. 

At the same time, the Board is discerning the future of our youth and young adults ministry. We are listening to input from Andy and from our youth and young adult families, and are actively seeking the right person to step into leadership for this ministry. We desire to move thoughtfully and intentionally, and we will share further updates as this process continues.

Please continue to pray intently for our youth and young adults, and for God to guide us in identifying the person He is inviting to serve as the primary leader of our NextGen ministries in this season.
