Please Pray!

Please Pray!

The Alpha group is heading into Holy Spirit weekend this Saturday. We are so thankful for the deep conversations we’ve had over the past 7 weeks and how God has been knitting together a community of care on Monday evenings. We have faced challenges and seen prayers answered and as we anticipate the coming weekend, we covet your prayers over the guests and leaders and the whole day. We are so excited to see how and where God is working and want to press in on that. Join us in prayer in the days leading up to it and throughout the day Saturday. I’m so thankful for the community that holds us up!

Event by Rick Schellenberg and PCC goes Hiking!

Janette and I are planning to do a short little hike on Saturday morning, May 6, to Minnekhada Regional Park. We'd love to have some PCC'ers (and friends) join us if you are able. We plan to meet at the park at 9:00am and should be back to our cars at 11:00am, leaving plenty of time for Saturday chores! If you need a ride or want to carpool, please let us know. As a reminder, this is a hiking group within Pacific Community Church that is open to all. The purpose of the group is a way to connect people (including those new to the church), to enjoy fresh air, exercise, and good conversation, and to take in the splendor of God's creation.

FULLY KNOWN

FULLY KNOWN

LAST WEEK TO REGISTER!

Join PCC women on May 13th from 8:30am to 3pm, as we unpack what the Bible has to say about our true, God-given identities. The cost is $40 and includes breakfast and lunch!

With guest speakers Elita Friesen and Anne Miranda, we'll examine not what society has to say, but what God has to say about who we are; because, as important as our roles are as wives, moms, aunts, friends, employees, employers, (fill in the blank!) we are more than what we do.

Join us as we consider what it means to be women of God: called, equipped, sent...what it means to be fully known.

Click on the link below for more info and to register by Sunday, April 30th!

PCC U - The Reliability of the Bible

PCC U - The Reliability of the Bible

With Jon ImBeau

Pastor Jon will be teaching a PCC U course that will take an in-depth look at why we can trust the Scriptures and what the evidence is for saying that our Bible is reliable. We will look at trusting the source, the transmission, and the translation. This will be a course offered over 2 nights (Wednesdays, May 24 & 31). Each night will be from 7 pm - 8:30 pm

Can you trust the scriptures to be the word of God?
"You can't trust the Bible because it has changed so much over the years." Have you heard a statement like that before? Or what about, "Don't you know that there were other letters that the disciples wrote but Constantine kept those out in the Council of Nicaea." Questions and statements like these represent a sceptical view of the reliability of the Bible. Do you know what to say to questions like these? Have you ever wondered if this ancient document can be trusted today?

If you are able to make a pie or dessert to be auctioned off, please contact Diane at diane.wong@pacificcommunity.ca

CCK Community Needs

There are a variety of requests that come up from our relationships with CCK guests, from furniture to jobs to guidance or advocacy to affordable or pro bono trades work, and we would love to share those requests with you, the church community.

A big THANK YOU for the two sewing machines that were donated! They have really blessed two refugee women who are excited to be able to take up sewing again as they settle in Canada.

Requests:
Bike locks, bike helmets, entry-level starter jobs, 2 toddler car seats
A senior needs help cleaning out their gutters (mobile home)
Housing for a senior under $1000/mo

Maybe you have the requested item and no longer need it or you would like to come alongside someone to help them navigate a certain area of our culture or community. We will update requests as they come in and you can contact  Zipporah Hantke.
