TREE CHIPPING - SATURDAY, JANUARY 8, 2022

TREE CHIPPING - SATURDAY, JANUARY 8, 2022

IN SUPPORT OF CCK

We are hosting a Tree Chipping event on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM!

Thanks to the very generous offer from BC Plant Health Care who will be providing the Chipper (and staff) to help us officially kick off our CNOY fundraiser! BC Plant Health Care are super excited to be able to do this for us!   Please join us - bring your tree to the church to be chipped and help us raise funds to keep our kitchen and programs running!  This event is by donation.  All donations over $20 will be tax receipable from CNOY (Blue Sea Foundation).

Trees must be free from decorations.  The chips are available to purchase (great for gardens).  Hot Chocolate will be served!

Would you be able to help out with this event?  We are looking for 4 volunteers to help with set up, serving hot chocolate and take down!  If you can help, please contact Joan at joan@mycck.ca

PCC'S TEAM: WAREHOUSE WANDERERS (CNOY - FEBRUARY 26)

Hello Church Family!

Do you have any plans on Saturday, February 26th?

We’d like to invite you to join our family in walking in the Coldest Night of the Year to raise money to support the Cloverdale Community Kitchen.
We will be taking to the streets yet again to help raise support to help people who are  experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Together we CAN make a difference!

We encourage you to get your families, your friends, and anyone else you can find, to join us together in this fun event to raise money for individuals in our community that need help.  Just click our team page link below to begin.       SIGN UP HERE TO JOIN PCC'S TEAM

Looking forward to seeing you there!   ~Jordan & Brittany

PS:  As always, your generosity matters. Your fundraising matters. You matter. Let’s work together to bring those in our community one step closer to being fed and off the streets.  If you have already signed up - THANK YOU!  If you have already donated - THANK YOU!

Naim Update

Naim Update

Welcome to our wrap of 2021!  Below are personal and ministry reflections from this challenging year. British Columbia was hit with extreme summer heat and more recently flooding that essentially shut down provincial travel.  It was also a year of milestones and bearing witness to God's goodness.

This year dad celebrated birthday number 85!  In October, Lana and I travelled to the southeast for my mother’s induction into the Academy of Richmond County’s Hall of Fame (her high school in Augusta, GA).  A few days previous, we attended my youngest cousin’s wedding in Charlottesville, VA.  What a blessing to see our southern family and my sister and husband from Salt Lake City.

"We can't use that knife...I cut the beaver tail off with it."  My friend from Saskatchewan told me this as we drove around to visit different staff.  We had stopped to get some lunch and were putting sandwiches together.

Alongside Update

Alongside Update

It’s so hard to summarize a year in a few short paragraphs, but here goes! There were certainly some tough times in 2021, notably the ongoing pandemic, another earthquake in Haiti, and a seemingly unbearable amount of unrest in Haiti. However, our family has had many memorable times this year and we hope you’ll enjoy hearing about them.

When Renel & I got married in 2009 we made a conscientious decision to not plan too far in advance. Both of us were on paths in our lives that we never would have imagined, and never could have pre-planned. It was a bit scary to not have a plan for the next 5-10 years (at least for me!) but we felt like God had brought us together against many odds and we wanted to see why.

TRANSFORM - PRAYER COURSE

TRANSFORM - PRAYER COURSE

The next cohort begins Sunday, January 16, 7:30 PM EST (that means 4:30 for us). The meetings are 90 minutes and the course goes 11 weeks (plus a couple follow-up meetings). The meetings consist of 30 minutes of overview of the week’s reading material, and then 60 minutes in small groups (same group every week), discussing our learnings and praying together. For the cohort that just ended (in which Lisa participated), there is a follow-up meeting on January 9 at 4:00, at which we’ll be sharing stories of what we’re learning, where God’s leading us in prayer, answers to prayer, etc. People are welcome to join that meeting if they want to get a feel for the course. I can send the Zoom link to anyone who’s interested.

Cost: $75.
Couples Rate: $105 for both.

Check out https://alliancepray.ca/home/transform-prayer-course/ to find out more about how this course is run, and see a video with some short testimonies.

THE GATHERING

THE GATHERING

Every 2nd Thursday - 7 PM to 8:30 PM

Let's face it - we are all going through a very difficult season! The added stresses and pressure from Covid is overwhelming - add to that the stresses of balancing work and home life - it gets to be too much and we reach the breaking point!

The Gathering is designed to offer support to each of us! We are in this together and The Gathering is that safe, inclusive community where we stand together and where no struggle is too small or too great to share with others.

The Gathering will take place every second Thursday, in person, here at PCC from 7 PM until 8:30 PM.  For a listing of the dates, please click on the READ MORE HERE link below.

To find out more about this confidential group, please contact Cheryl Blake at cjblake0829@gmail.com or Prince Thomas at prince.thomas@pacificcommunity.ca

COVID UPDATE

COVID UPDATE

From now until January 18, 2022 (or until we get an updated Order), we will be putting a pause on all in-person gatherings for the following Ministries:

PCC Kids
Impact Youth (5-7)
Growth Groups
55+

For Growth Groups, we encourage you to continue to meet via Zoom.

Our Youth and Young Adults groups will continue to meet at the church, keeping within 50% capacity of the room.  They will be meeting in the Sanctuary which holds up to 275 people at 50%.  As these Ministries have a worship component to them, we are not required to ask for proof of passports.

Our Worship Service is permitted to meet on Sundays, keeping within the 50% capacity.

We want to ensure that we are doing everything possible to keep safe so masks continue to be mandatory, hand sanitizers will be available to use and washrooms will be sanitized before each service.  We ask that if you are not feeling well, please stay home to self monitor.

We are in this together - and we continue to pray that God will put an end to this pandemic.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us!
