MISSIONAL MOMENT

MISSIONAL MOMENT

PLEASE PRAY WITH US!

We want to be a church that is intentional about praying!  We have several Missions Groups that we support financially AND through prayer.  Would you join us in praying, specifically, this week for THE GIDEONS?

Here are five areas we can pray in support of the ongoing work of The Gideons/ShareWord Global.  It is very exciting to read what God is doing with this ministry!

Ukraine: We have begun “Zoom call” evangelism meetings with high school and college students in Ukraine. Ask God to prepare the hearts and minds of young people to hear His Word as it is presented by members of the ShareWord Global family.

Nicaragua: Pray for our church partner pastors in Nicaragua to have continued strength in sharing the gospel in the schools God has opened to them. Pray also for fathers of the students who will receive the Spark magazine.

Cuba: Miraculously, doors are being opened in Cuba.  The government has granted ShareWord Global permission to bring Scripture magazines and other materials into the country. Praise God for softening hearts as the ministry to students begins. Please pray over this important initiative, as this is one of ShareWord Global’s largest undertakings ever!

Serbia: Pray for new relationships that ShareWord Global members are building with the Balkan region countries, particularly the continued progression of Scripture magazine printing within Serbia.

New Canadian Resource: There has been such a good response from around the world to a new “digital magazine” concept that several denominations have been willing to pay for development costs of the magazine for their country. Please pray for design and technical details currently being finalized. It is hoped this new Scripture resource will soon be ready to launch here in Canada as well.

THANK YOU so much for praying!

Go to the GIDEONS WEBSITE For the latest message from Gideons President, Dr. Al Anderson for further areas of prayer!

MOBILE MEALS

MOBILE MEALS

DRVERS NEEDED - SIGN UP TODAY - 778-617-3000

Our Mobile Meals program has grown by leaps and bounds and as the community needs grow, our need for drivers grows.  We have been running our Mobile Meals program for over a year now and we have been so blessed to have such amazing drivers!

These dedicated drivers come to the church to pick up the food, they drive each meal to various locations and they bless each family who they deliver to.  Several of our long time drivers love their routes and they not only pray for the families that they deliver to, but they invest in their lives!  A simple conversation at the door leads to opportunities to share with these families WHY we are doing this.  These drivers are literally the hands and feet of Jesus - caring for the community in such a simple way.

As our program grows, we are in need of 20 more drivers.  This will give us the opportunity to expand to other communities and to split up some of the very long routes.  As well, during the summer many of our drivers will be taking time off.

So, if you are able to help us, please call Lindsay at 778-617-3000 or email her at LINDSAY'S EMAIL.  Even if it's only once a week - or twice a week - or every other week - we need you and we would be so grateful for your help!

YOUNG LIFE - FONDO

YOUNG LIFE - FONDO

A NOTE FROM BILL HARRINGTON

Greetings everyone - it's Bill Harrington here, letting you know about the Young LIfe Fraser Valley Fondo that I will be partricipating in on June 26!  As in previous years, I've always appreciated your support (thank you!).  It is that time of year when I come to you and ask for your support again as I ride in the YL Fraser Valley Fondo.

PCC is a strong supporter of Young Life and so am I.  YL is passionate about reaching teenagers and we want to use our love for cycling to inspire our friends to have the ride of their life, and contribute to making a difference in young lives in their community.

The funds raised at each Fondo event go right back into Young Life’s work with teenagers.

The ride this year is coming very fast! It is on Saturday, June 26th.  With Delta starting its own area this year (which is great news as more young people will hear the gospel), it has reduced the number of riders for Cloverdale.  With that in mind, I ask that you consider sponsoring me as I ride to support teens in the Surrey/Cloverdale area. We raised over $6000 last year thanks to your kindness.

You can DONATE HERE.

Thank-you, again, for supporting the work of Young Life in our community so many teens can hear of Jesus and the difference He can make in their lives.

CLOVERDALE COMMUNITY CYCLES

STATEMENT FROM CMA

STATEMENT FROM CMA

FROM REV. DR. DAVID HEARN, PRESIDENT, THE ALLIANCE CANADA

On behalf of the staff and leadership at Pacific Community Church, we want to acknowledge the horrific discovery of the deaths of 215 indigenous children in Kamloops, BC.  We stand beside The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, who recently published the following statement.  This statement is a true reflection of our hearts as well.  Please take a moment to read it.    ~Pastor Jon

"The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada profoundly grieves the recent revelation of the deaths of 215 indigenous children in Kamloops, B.C. Our heart goes out to their families, their home communities, and to all First Nations across Canada.

The residential school system remains a stain on Canada’s history. We acknowledge that our ancestors participated in this injustice, even through their silence and inaction. On behalf of our family of churches, I sincerely apologize for the sins of our ancestors and failure to protect these innocent children.

We acknowledge the blindness and institutionalized racism of our past and we are committed to work toward a better future. As a church, we own our sins of the past and repent of this failure—yes, even generations later—and commit to representing Jesus better now and in the future.

We pause, we remember, we search our hearts, and we promise to do better for all children. We will continue to pursue truth and reconciliation in keeping with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action.

Come, Lord Jesus."
