Lent

Lent is an integral season during the year for believers across the globe–a time of personal reflection to prepare our hearts and minds to remember Jesus’ crucifixion on Good Friday and to celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Many Christians participate in fasting and focused praying during lent as a means through the Holy Spirit’s empowerment to live more Godly lives based on embodying the teachings of Jesus. However, there are several themes that believers give attention to during this six (6) week period, and here at Pacific, as we approach Easter, we will be engaging in a three (3)-week sermon series that will explore the Lenten themes of waiting, temptation(s), and suffering.

Please join us weekly, starting from March 10th to March 24th, as we unpack questions like:

  • How do we make sense of our life circumstances when God doesn’t come through for us when we want or expect him to?
  • Can God truly relate to the struggles we face to maintain our faith when tempted?
  • Why did Jesus suffer? Why do so many characters and followers of Jesus suffer? Does suffering have a purpose?

We look forward to journeying through this Lenten season as a community of faith as we aim to emulate the way of Christ in our time and context.
