Our Partners in Mission

We work with a lot of partners throughout our ministries. There are two kinds of partnerships. The first are organizations or individuals who we endorse after we have reviewed the ministry. These ministries often come to our attention through a representative in our Church. Our team spends much time praying about these ministries, asking God for direction, before we endorse a ministry. We want to encourage and support outstanding mission work whether it is local or global. These endorsed ministries are supported through the funds received under "Missional" giving and dispersed under the Missional Team's direction each month. The second kind of partnership offers general support.  These ministries are ones we value greatly and we support through prayer.  Giving to these ministries is also done under the direction of the Missional Team, but not on a regular monthly basis.

The Missions Team

The Missions Team is a group of dedicated individuals who are passionate about local and global missions! This team is responsible for:

  • Oversees the Missions Fund
  • Listens to new ideas
  • Considers new ministry initiatives
  • Evaluates how we can support partners

We support missionaries and missional ministries, and direct funds to how we sense God is directing us.  Over the years we have supported numerous missionaries, helped launch ministries like the Mt Currie trips and Cloverdale Community Kitchen.

Give to The Missions Fund

By giving to the Missional Fund directly you contribute to a number of partner ministries and specific mission efforts initated by the Missional Team. The team sets annual goals and disperses funds toward helping those in need here, supporting global efforts, sponsoring refugees, and contributing to Missionaries and ministries like Storehouse Society, NAIM, Young Life, and Youth Unlimited. The Global Advance Fund (GAF)
The Global Advance Fund directly supports the global mission efforts of The Alliance Canada. The bulk of this fund covers expenses involved in sending missionaries and international workers overseas, including salaries and benefits, as well as the costs associated with ministry in various countries. The remainder is designated to strengthen the sending base, to train missionaries at Ambrose University College (formerly Alliance University College) and for various administrative needs including the National Ministry Centre. Each of the more than 400 Alliance churches in Canada supports GAF through their giving.  Individuals in those churches give faithfully to both the local church and to missions.
