We’re grateful to share an encouraging opportunity that reflects our church’s commitment to raising up future leaders.

Our denomination, The Alliance Canada, has launched a leadership development grant to support emerging leaders exploring a call to vocational ministry. Participating congregations serve as “hub churches,” partnering in spiritual formation, practical ministry experience, and theological training for those discerning pastoral leadership.

We’re pleased to share that Jonathan Mawakha has been accepted into this program. Jonathan recently went through an interview and discernment process with denominational leaders and was approved for participation based on his own sense of calling, character, and readiness for ministry development.

As part of the program, Jonathan is also beginning theological training at Pacific Life Bible College. The grant is specifically designed to support students who are actively pursuing theological education while serving and growing within a local church context.

As a participating hub church, our role is to support Jonathan’s development in two primary ways:

Mentorship & Coaching

Jonathan will be paired with a ministry mentor who will walk alongside him in prayer, feedback, and discernment as he continues exploring his calling. The PCC Pastoral Team has agreed to serve in this mentoring role.

Practical Ministry Experience

Jonathan will also be given opportunities to participate in ministry in meaningful ways that help him grow in pastoral experience and leadership. Over the coming months, you may see him serving in new or expanded ways as part of this structured development pathway.

We’re sharing this so that when you see Jonathan stepping into ministry opportunities, you understand that these experiences are part of a formal leadership development initiative supported by our denomination.

As a church, we believe that investing in emerging leaders is an important part of stewarding the future of the church of Jesus. We’re grateful for the ways God is working in Jonathan’s life and look forward to supporting him as he continues to grow in his calling.

Please join us in praying for Jonathan as he steps into this next season of learning, formation, and service.
