Surge Group - Info Meeting
Surge School is a 9 month, intensive leadership development program that you can be a part of. Over the last few years, a number of us pastors and members have worked through Surge. In fact, a number of Cloverdale Churches are cooperating together to do it together. This year, Pastor Jim, is launching a new Surge group. You are invited to learn more about it on September 8 after the service in the Fireside Room/Space.
Be aware that this will be a significant investment of time and effort and not a little addition to your weekly routine and may demand that you adjust other commitments, even Church ones, for the nine months you participate in Surge.
Our learning will progress through four main stages of understanding and applying the Gospel. The first will focus on the Gospel story and finding your place in the drama of the biblical narrative. This is a macro view of God’s big story. Second, we will focus in on the application of the Gospel to our hearts and lives as the Holy Spirit continues to shape our thinking, attitude and actions through His Word. Third, we will seek to develop a view of the larger purpose of God’s People in the mission that God has given to us for as long as we have breath in our lungs. Lastly, we will examine the Kingdom value of our vocation. This last section will help us to develop an understanding of our calling as Christ-centered people working in various locations and vocations.
I believe that this opportunity is outstanding for anyone, male or female, who desires to devote nine (intensive--but not overly) months to grow, learn, and become more and more of what God is calling you to be in the world.
