As the weather turns colder, we have a simple but meaningful opportunity to extend Christ’s love to our underhoused friends and neighbours in our communities, including South Surrey/White Rock.
Maria Staunton, a PCC attendee, is coordinating the collection and distribution of winter essentials, including:
gloves
scarves
socks
heavy layers & jackets
toques
plastic bags/garbage bags (to help protect belongings from the ground)
We’re inviting anyone who lives in the area—or who feels called to serve—to connect with Maria. She is organizing small teams who will meet at her home, gather the donated items, and then go out together to distribute them to individuals in need at locations such as:
Save-On-Foods (16 Ave & 152 St)
Tim Hortons (17 Ave & 152 St)
McDonald’s (18 Ave & 152 St)
Teams may choose the night that works best for them. Based on availability, Maria will also coordinate whether someone can bring a simple meal or food items to share.
If you’d like to donate items or participate on a team, please contact Maria directly HERE!
