Our vision is for all families in Haiti to have access to education and have sufficient income to be able to provide for their family’s essential needs. We will work towards our vision by coming alongside families, and family units, in practical ways.

Change is possible!

Our passion is to come alongside families to strengthen them and empower them to build their capacity in sustaining ways. We recognize that change takes time and too often a child's education is cut short when the family has minimal resources.

You can come alongside a family, and help them achieve financial sustainability, by sponsoring their child to attend Elementary School, High School or Post-Secondary Education.

A sponsored child will have their tuition and fees paid, and be provided with their required text books. Families are encouraged to participate in the education process by providing uniforms, supplies and transportation (when necessary). We believe it is important for families to be part of the process and if they are not financially able, they will be encouraged to participate in our Small Business Loan program.

The cost of sponsorship varies depending on the level of education:

Elementary School: $30/month

High School: $40/month

Post-Secondary: minimum $50/month (depending on career path)

Evening Out Fundraiser 2025

Have you been saving your toonies all year? 

Our anticipated annual fundraiser is in the works and it's going to be an Evening Out you won't want to miss!

When:    Sunday, June 22nd, 2025
Time:      6-8pm
Where:   Artful Dodger (2364 200th Street, Langley)
Price:     $25 and includes burger (beef, chicken, or veggie) and drink

There will be a silent auction, toonie toss, and other fun games. You'll also have a chance to chat with Renel & Rebecca about what's happening in Haiti and how Alongside's programs are doing.

We have to confirm our numbers with the restaurant so buy your tickets soon!

The silent auction will begin on our Facebook page on June 15th (a week early) and finish at the live event.

Steve & Marlie Coble have donated a week at their beautiful house, Casa Suenos, in Todos Santos (near Cabo), Mexico! The house has 3 identical King Suites (detached from the main house), each with their own bathroom. It would be great for a multi family vacation (max of 8 adults), or it could be split up between 2 families (3 or 4 days each). Property is listed on airbnb.com/rooms/5347429 and vrbo.com(675328).

Rhum Barbancourt is tough to get these days with so few people travelling to and from Haiti. There will be a bottle in the silent auction, a bottle in the toonie toss, and a special way to win a bottle during the event!
